This book series presents the latest research results for the electroceramics in Japan. The volume discusses dielectric, piezoelectric and ferroelectric materials; semiconductive and ionically conducting materials. Special emphasis is placed on the characterization and the application of semiconducting or piezoelectric ZnO, including the fabrication procedures for bulk, thin film ceramics and single crystal. Important results are reported on lithium ionic conductors and its batteries, grain boundary phenomena and the effects of various crystal and surface structures on the technologically important properties of electroceramics.
