The dictionary contains approximately 12,000 words and idioms of standard German with nationally - or regionally - limited distribution, or differences in usage including their general standard German equivalents (if there are any). The dictionary is based on the analysis of an extensive corpus from all countries in which German is the national or regional official language, with an analysis of the language of the Internet as an additional data source. It is the first dictionary of any language which contains the complete inventory of all the nationally - or regionally - limited items.
