Abstract

For this column, I would like to bring to your attention two new books in Springer Verlag's Advances in Polymer Science Series. Vol. 165: Polyelectrolytes with Defined Molecular Architecture I. M. Schmidt, Ed., 2004, Springer, Berlin, Heidelberg, and New York, 267 pp., $249, Vol. 166: Polyelectrolytes with Defined Molecular Architecture II. M. Schmidt, Ed., 2004, Springer, Berlin, Heidelberg, and New York, 231 pp., $249. These two volumes of the Advances in Polymer Science series present in eleven review articles the outcome of research performed in the German research center on "Polyelectrolytes with defined molecular architecture-synthesis, function and theoretical description" during a six-year period. The center was launched by the German Science Foundation in 1996 and funded in average 25 research groups.
