Abstract
Srivastava and Gupta (1961) postulated that the malpighian tubules in the American cockroach do not function in the removal of uric acid. However, the silver method of Gomori (1952) for uric acid shows typical staining in the tubules, and especially dense staining at the junction of the tubules and the gut (Fig. 1).
