Abstract
Electrophoretic analysis of 18 enzyme loci in local populations of the tree-hole mosquito Aedes triseriatus (Say) from northwestern Indiana and southwestern Michigan revealed that genetic variability in these populations was quite extensive. The average heterozygosity (H) was 21.5%, and the proportion of polymorphic loci based on Criteria I and II was 0.720 and 0.495, respectively. The average genetic identity (I) was 0.994. Comparisons between oak and beech populations showed no tendency toward differentiation between oak and beech ecotypes.
