Abstract
Tropical Asian genus Pyrrhopeplus Stål, 1870, and its two species, P. carduelis (Stål, 1863) and P. posthumus Horváth, 1892, are redescribed, measurements are given, and the parameres figured; also described is the male fifth instar of P. carduelis. A synapomorphy, paired setal patches on the male's genital capsule, may ally this genus with several other genera.
