Abstract

A class of exact solutions is obtained by considering the cylindrically symmetric Marder's metric for relativistic magneto-fluid or thermodynamical perfect fluid with infinite electric conductivity and constant magnetic permeablity in the Sen–Dunn theory of gravitation. The solutions do not reduce all the components of the Riemann curvature tensor Rhjik to zero. This implies that the cylindrical waves in the Sen–Dunn theory produce real curvature in space. Various physical consequences arising out of the solutions are discussed.
