Abstract

A 35-year old woman experienced sudden loss of vision in both eyes associated with painful sensation on eye movement. The funduscopic findings were normal. Bilateral optic nerve enlargement was evident on both computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging. After pulse corticosteroid therapy, her visual acuity improved from counting fingers to 20/20 bilaterally.
