Abstract
This study presents a form-class stand volume equation for total volume which necessitates only two sweeps with a Spiegel Relaskap, one at breast height and one at a fixed upper height, together with summations of the heights of the trees selected in each sweep. The equation will estimate stand volume almost as precisely as form-class tree volume equations that require upper-stem diameter measurements on each tree. The equation would thus appear to have practical advantages for use in inventory work.
