Abstract
In a previous number of the Journal (36:588-599. 1938) the results obtained with various tools and methods in an experimental pruning of white pine were reported. In that study the California 5 1/2 pt. saw was found to be the most efficient tool for the 0 to 7-foot bole division. The following paper is quite largely a summary of the results and opinions of other workers with respect to the use of the two-hand pruning shear in forest pruning.
