Abstract
This article deals with the organization set up in the Department of Agriculture to carry on watershed improvement work in the interest of flood control; the procedures being followed; the status of investigational and operational activities; and the significance of the watershed approach in installing watershed works of improvement that retard run-off and waterflow and prevent erosion and thereby reduce damages caused by floodwaters and sediment.
