Abstract

The selection and breeding of white pines resistant to blister rust have been of continuing interest to pathologists, geneticists, and foresters for many years. Work on rust resistance in western white pine was started in the Inland Empire region in 1949. This article is a progress report covering work accomplished thus for and plans for future work.
