Abstract
The cost of enhancing the visual quality of forestlands under multiple-use management can be determined by comparing the cost of managing under alternative regimes with different degrees of visual enhancement. The result of such an analysis on the Mt. Hood National Forest has been expressed as a cost per acre per year to achieve the visual enhancement and as an increased cost per thousand cubic feet of wood produced.
