Abstract
Whole-tree harvesting has potential to cause different responses in quality of forest streams than those resulting from bole-only harvests. We sampled turbidity, temperature, and chemistry of streams draining watersheds that were whole-tree harvested in Maine, New Hampshire, and Connecticut. Changes in stream quality can be expected as a result of whole-tree harvesting, but commonsense precautions suggested at the end of this paper can keep the changes within acceptable limits. North. J.
