Abstract

In rabbits, mast cells were shown to degranulate during passive anaphylaxis. However, disodium cromoglycate was ineffective in altering degranulation of mast cells during this reaction.Mast cells degranulated during a provocative ragweed test in a patient with ragweed hay fever, and disodium cromoglycate inhibited degranulation of mast cells in the nasal mucosa pretreated with disodium cromoglycate.
