Abstract

Many educators have taught technical communication courses that focus exclusively on hardcopy, printed information; they have taught the courses successfully, and sometimes they have taught them for a very long time. To change the focus of their courses to include the new technology may seem not only threatening and time consuming; it may seem to be an unnecessary change for the sake of change, not a benefit to students. Helping these educators understand the importance of new technologies and how to add them to the curriculum by integrating them into existing courses or by creating new courses would be a significant contribution.
