Abstract

Isobaric enthalpy increment and isenthalpic Joule–Thomson effect measurements on synthetic gas containing binary, or ternary mixtures of methane, ethane, propane, and nitrogen are presented. The experimental results are presented as isobaric heat capacities Cp and Joule–Thomson coefficients μ. The measurements were performed in the gas phase over the temperature range 140 K to 345 K, and pressure range 0.17 MPa to 14.2 MPa. The measurements were carried out in an electrically-heated flow calorimeter. A comparison with the SRK equation of state is also given.
