Abstract

The high-resolution FTIR spectrum of FNO has been recorded and the rovibrational structure of the essentially unperturbed &ngr;3, 2&ngr;3, and &ngr;1+ &ngr;3cold bands and the 2&ngr;3← &ngr;3, &ngr;2+ &ngr;3← &ngr;3, and &ngr;1+ &ngr;2+ &ngr;3← &ngr;3hot bands has been analyzed. The perturbed bands &ngr;1and &ngr;1+ &ngr;2have been assigned and the data analyzed by fitting the transitions with the dark states &ngr;2+ 2&ngr;3and 2&ngr;2+ 2&ngr;3. Parameters for both light and dark states together with Coriolis coupling parameters have been determined.
