Plant tissue culture has become an invaluable aid in the field of experimental botany and has many practical applications in agriculture and horticulture. In recognition of its importance in basic and applied areas of plant science, many universities have included this subject in undergraduate and postgraduate courses but find that they lack a suitable introductory text.
