Abstract
Six species of ascalaphids were collected by the expedition, all in November. A new species, Tmesibasis royi n. sp. (subfam. Haplogleniinae) and a new genus Cirrops n. gen, with the new species C. kumari n. sp. (subfam. Ascalaphinae) are described and figured. The types of Bubo festivus Rambur, 1842, have been examined and a lectotype (from Senegal) has been selected.
