Abstract
The status of the North American dried fruit moth in Europe is reviewed and the type-material of Vitula serratilineella Ragonot, 1887 is discussed. As a result the name serratilineella is reinstated, as Vitula edmandsii serratilineella Ragonot, 1887, for the western form of the dried fruit moth and the name Moodna bombylicolella Amsel, 1955 is again relegated to synonymy. Lectotypes are designated for Vitula dentosella Ragonot, 1887 and Vitula serratilineella Ragonot, 1887.
