Abstract

A reliable procedure for the quantitation of ethylene glycol by use of a gas chromatograph equipped with a flame ionization detector (FID) is presented. Ethylene glycol is esterified with n-butyl boronic acid to increase its volatility and reduce problems in quantitation due to tailing and lack of sensitivity.
