Abstract
This paper presents a kanban production planning system as standard method of control with work-in-process (WIP) reduction for a company which makes temperature control products for trailers and other types of transportation. A kanban supplier system was established to control the quantity of raw materials for its production process which is composed of thermoforming, routing and gluing. This tool will be used to make negotiations with the supplier in order to incorporate the scrap percent into the daily demand looking for a standardisation size of the raw material. The sanitation system will help for WIP reduction. The kanban system will reduce wastes in the process, minimise inventory, reduce the lead time and will decrease capital losses.
