Abstract
The absorption and transmission spectra of Bi_12MO_20 (M = Ge, Si, Ti) sillenite crystals were studied in the range 300–900 nm. Doping and vacuum annealing were found to have a significant effect on the transmission spectra of the crystals both near the fundamental absorption edge and in the long-wavelength region. The spectral dependences of the photocurrent through Bi_12GeO_20 , Bi_12SiO_20 , and Bi_12TiO_20 are also discussed.
