Abstract

Even though stronger patent protection increases an innovator's incentives to innovate, the entrenched boundaries of her innovation may prove non-surpassable to some innovators, who choose not to innovate. As innovators abstain from innovating we should witness a reduction in knowledge spillovers that hinders innovation.
