Abstract

The interaction of bilirubin with albumin in aqueous buffer solutions is studied and the stability constants of the formed complex are determined. The adsorption of bilirubin and albumin from their individual and mixed solutions on the surface of highly dispersed silica is studied as a function of pH and albumin concentration. It is shown that the character of the adsorption of bilirubin from solutions containing albumin changes significantly compared to the adsorption from an individual solution.
