Abstract

Experimental studies of the solubility of carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide in aqueous solutions of alkanolamines, widely used industrial absorbents of acid gases, are reviewed. A comparative analysis of methods employed by various authors is made. The available published data on the solubility of CO2 and H2S in solutions of primary, secondary, and tertiary alkanolamines are analyzed. Fundamental aspects of the influence exerted by various additives on the phase behavior of systems constituted by an acid gas, alkanolamine, and water are considered.
