Abstract
This review gives a survey of the results Of five years† of study in the field of electron fractography conducted at the National Aerospace Laboratory (N.L.R.) to sleek a better understanding of fracture mechanisms. It is largely based on a series of publicationsl-12 that appeared during these years. In general only the progress achieved purely by electron fractography will be discussed, although in a Jew cases use will be made of results, of transmission electron microscopy of thin foils and of optical microscopy.
