Abstract
In the first winning entry of our 'Is small still relevant?' competition, Andrea Chartock charts the rise and fall of BDS as it was aimed at small enterprises. One problem that the BDS MD approach has faced is stimulating demand for services in remote markets and among smaller enterprises. However, the principles behind both BDS and small enterprise development are still needed, as the field moves in new directions.
