Abstract

The problem of enhancing refrigerating capacity of disk regenerative crystallizer designed for oil dewaxing and slack wax and petrolatum deoiling processes is studied. A computer model is built to study the heat exchange process in the crystallizer. The numerical modeling data are compared with the industrial disk crystallizer test data. It is demonstrated that the proposed model adequately describes the hydro- and thermodynamic conditions of operation of the industrial apparatus and that the disk crystallizer has considerable potential for augmenting refrigerating capacity.
