Abstract
The author repeats briefly the fundamental elements of the theory of conical shells to show that the motional impedance could be calculated by considering the two components of a vector in a four dimensional space. The distribution of resonant frequencies, assuming negligible damping, is in good agreement with experiment, and is practically independent of the nature of the limiting conditions.
