Abstract
The Migdal–Eliashberg equations are solved using the separable model for the electron-phonon coupling and the Fermi velocity. We show that this very simple model is capable of describing particular properties of superconducting MgB2 and is, therefore, very convenient to discuss the specific effects of anisotropy. The temperature dependence of the specific heat, the upper and the thermodynamic critical field is calculated and found to be in excellent agreement with experimental results for a certain set of model parameters.
