Abstract

Based on the study of interactions between elements of proposed design and engineering solutions, a unified technique is proposed for analyzing the stress-strain state in joints with a continuous, discontinuous, or a combined bonding layer in components with longitudinally variable geometrical and rigidity parameters, under arbitrary thermomechanical loading. Resolving systems of linear equations are derived, an extent of sufficient discretization of s structure is assessed, and some numerical results are provided. The paper gives recommendations of how to use this technique and demonstrates that it can be efficiently applied to the majority of joint types.
