Abstract
Three polythermal sections have been constructed in order to give a fuller description of the structure of the phase diagram for the Al2O3 - ZrO2 - Nd2O3 system over wide ranges in temperature and concentration, which indicate the character of the interactions in the ternary system. For Nd2O3 - (50 mole% Al2O3 - 50 mole% ZrO2) we constructed the structure of the phase diagram for the Al2O3 - ZrO2 - Nd2O3 system in the region enriched with Nd2O3, and also established the mechanism for the X H A phase transitions in the solid solutions based on Nd2O3. The isopleth 20 mole% ZrO2 (20Z) indicates the structure of the Al2O3 - ZrO2 - Nd2O3 phase diagram system in the region adjoining the binary adjacent Al2O3 - Nd2O3 system. The isopleth 40 mole% (40Z) describes the structure of the ternary system in the region enriched with ZrO2, and also the mechanism of the F T phase transformation for the solid solutions based on ZrO2. These polythermal sections cross all three triangulating sections for the ternary system and indicate the behavior of the widths of the two-phase regions.
