Abstract
We propose a new entropic uncertainty measure for the continu- ous observables,the Havrda –Charvat entropy functional,which is considerably easier to handle mathematically than the di .erential entropy.We determine the Havrda –Charvat entropy funct onals of the posit on and momentum for the excitedstates of harmonic oscillator andthe n .nite potential well andshow that these entropy funct onals are simpler to evaluate analyt cally as well as numerically than the corresponding di .erent al entrop es.
