Abstract
Hermynia Zur Mühlen was particularly interested in radio as a medium and was accustomed to writing scripts. The BBC broadcast a play of hers as early as 1932 but her efforts to place features with the BBC while in exile in Great Britain from 1939 onwards were not particularly successful. There is, however, a marked contrast between the caustic and scathing internal memos on her work in the BBC Archives and the kind and friendly letters she received from the various BBC departments. One recording of a broadcast still survives, The Gift (1948).
