Abstract
Results of experimental investigations and theoretical analysis of the influence of the temperature on the interaction of two counterpropagating beams in sillenite crystals are presented. A theoretical model is developed that qualitatively describes the observed temperature effects and takes into account the influence of the crystal temperature on the processes of charge redistribution over defect centers and drift of the interference pattern in the crystal due to the thermooptical effect and linear crystal expansion.
