This book is a compilation of papers presented at the First European Workshop for Guidelines and Protocols (EWGLP 2000) held in Leipzig (Germany) in November 2000. Included are current research results and proposals for future projects from international researchers based in Austria, Canada, the Czech Republic, England, France, Italy, Ireland, Singapore and the USA. The papers describe recent advances and new developments in the use of various computer based technologies employed in the support of guideline- and protocol-based health care.
