Description
The 22 peer-reviewed papers collected here together offer a plenitude of up-to-date information on “Ceramic Thin Films and Coatings for Protective, Tribological and Multifunctional Applications”. The papers are conveniently arranged into ADVANCES IN DEPOSITION, SURFACE MODIFICATION AND CHARACTERIZATION, PROTECTIVE COATINGS IN OXIDIZING AND HARSH ENVIRONMENTS, THIN FILMS AND COATINGS FOR TRIBOLOGICAL AND MULTIFUNCTIONAL APPLICATIONS.
This special volume has also been published online in the series, “Advances in Science and Technology” Vol. 66 via www.scientific.net.
The Congress is documented in 10 volumes, each covering one symposium or a few related ones. In this case, the title of the book and the symposium are the same. The 22 papers cover deposition, surface modification, and characterization; protective coatings in oxidizing and harsh environments; and thin films and coatings for tribological and multifunctional applications. Among the specific topics are a comparison between conventional thermal treatment and excimer laser irradiation performed on alumina/PEEK composite coatings, oxidation behavior in thermal barrier coatings on copper substrates, and damping properties of hard coatings for engine applications.
