Whatever the method of consultation, and regardless of internal or external influences, many doctors would describe good general practice as doing the best for the patient in the consultation at any point in time. Working with Vulnerable Groups challenges GPs to consider that all patients are not equal in terms of need, and that therefore GPs may have greater responsibilities to some patients than to others.
