Description

The aim of this book is to provide a coherent picture of contemporary social theory. The hope is that an uncluttered and more unified discussion of key themes will improve the ability of students to master this topic. This book is not organized around persons or schools of thought. Likewise, the attempt is made to avoid "insider" debates and the jargon that has become the hallmark of this stage of theory development. Key themes are thus identified and reviewed in a straightforward manner, while trying to unpack the relevant philosophical themes in an accessible way.
