Abstract
Rehabilitation counseling is the pillar of rehabilitation education, but rehabilitation programs at the undergraduate level have been hiding in its shadow for over 45 years now. These programs are not well known outside the rehabilitation field and are commonly misunderstood even among rehabilitation educators. In addition to providing a background summary of undergraduate education, this article presents results of a national study that provides a professional profile of undergraduate program coordinators, descriptions of program faculty, and data on the characteristics of undergraduate programs in rehabilitation.
