Abstract
We report the finding of two new effects in the current conduction through ferroelectric films: a temperature-induced abrupt conductance change and an effect similar to the positive-temperature-coefficient-of-resistance (PTCR). Here, we use mostly the lattice-mismatched epitaxial heterostructure BaTiO 3 /(La,Sr) 2 CuO 4 . The results should provide an insight into the insulator-metal transition in insulators and the new class of the thin-film PTCR.
