Abstract
In this work, a spectrophotometric methodology for the determination of metoclopramide in pharmaceutical preparations is proposed. The approach was based on the reaction of metoclopramide with Folin-Ciocalteu reagent and was implemented on a sequential injection analysis automated flow system. An in-line mixing chamber was used to promote reaction zone homogenization, to increase reaction time, and to attenuate the high refractive index gradient generated by the utilization of concentrated solutions, thus enabling the minimization of the Schlieren effect. Linear calibration plots for metoclopramide concentrations up to 100 mg L-1 were obtained, with good precision (RSD<3%, n="10)." the="" detection="" limit="" was="" 2.0 mg l-1="" and="" the="" quantification="" limit="" was="" 6.8 mg l-1.="">
