Abstract

The interaction of 12b-hydroxy-des-D-Garcigerin (GA) with DNA was studied by using acridine orange (AO) as a probe. The results indicated that there was a complex of GA and DNA, which was confirmed by absorption and fluorescence spectra. The influence of salt and temperature on the interaction of GA with DNA was studied. The results suggested that the intercalation and electrostatic binding should be the 2 major modes for interaction between GA and DNA.
