Abstract
This article aims to examine the acute toxicity of mercuric chloride (HgCl2) to Gambusia holbrooki by static bioassays. It is demonstrated that the LC50 values are decreasing as time increases, so that about 50% of all mortality occurred in the first 24 h. The LC50 values for HgCl2 at 24, 48, 72, and 96 h of exposure, were 0.56, 0.41, 0.36, and 0.36 mg L-1, respectively.
