Abstract
After an industrial contamination of cadmium in the Lot river (France), an estimate of the cadmium stock stored in the bottom sediments of the river has been established in 1991. The behaviour and the evolution of this metallic concentration has been followed during the 1987–1994 period. It has been shown that there is a decrease of cadmium, in suspended matter and sediment, in relation to the decrease of fluxes flowing out the factory.
