Abstract

Two mathematical models, including core loss component, are developed for the steady state analysis of single phase self excited induction generators (SEIG) using nodal admittance and loop impedance method based on graph theory. These models do not involve any lengthy derivations of nonlinear equations, and inclusion or elimination of any equivalent circuit elements can be done easily. It can also be used to find any combination of unknown quantities of the equivalent circuit. To predetermine the steady state performance of single-phase SEIG, application of genetic algorithm (GA) has been proposed. The experimental and theoretical results are found to be in close agreement, which validates the proposed method.
