Abstract

Describes how Dickinson College (Carlisle, Pennsylvania, USA) has redesigned the teaching methods in introductory physics courses to take advantage of findings in physics education research and introduce students to the use of modern computer tools. Applications include data analysis, graphing and curve fitting; calculations and modeling; video analysis; and microcomputer-based laboratory tools.
