Abstract

In order to study possible differences in the rate of development of male and female eggs of Pseudeucoila bochei, the hatching curves of eggs laid by virgin females (♂ eggs) and fertilized females (♂ and eggs) were determined. Since the sex ratio of the eggs laid by fertilized females was known, the hatching curve of female eggs could be calculated. It appeared that female eggs hatch about 3 hours later than male eggs.
